Beginning with the invention of the firearm industry's first synthetic lubricant and gun grease formulas in the 1980s, Tetra Gun has been at the forefront of the industry based on its technical expertise and scientific know-how. And, unlike many of the brands that you might know and use today, very few are actually engineered or manufactured by those companies.
Tetra Gun believes that you have to have a mastery of the subject matter to have the most valid opinion. There are other good products out there, of course, but with anything, you need to know how to use firearms maintenance products as intended, to avoid problems.
Grease is not grease, and oil is not oil. The same mantra applies to bore solvent and other cleaning solutions and surface treatments. That includes understanding the potential chemical interactions between products when used together, and the pitfalls that every consumer potentially faces. There are many gun owners that might think this is all simple, but to us, mastering the subject is important. We'd like to think you want to take the best possible care of your hardware portfolio. The same goes with your mindset about range safety. It's a mindset.
Based on caliber, your selection of cleaning rod, bore rope, gun cleaning kit and all of the possible accessories is important - from the patch holder to the patch size, to the brush, mop and jag all matter to us - not to mention other items. Of course, the magic is in the formula, as it penetrates and treats gunmetal under the surface. To lube and protect, it's a good thing.

BASIC GUN CARE INSTRUCTIONS to Clean, Lubricate & Protect:
Step 1: Clean gunmetal parts. Whether you have light buildup or heavy buildup will determine if you should use a water-based Cleaner Degreaser or Carbon Cleaner, or a stronger solution like Copper Solvent or Action Blaster aerosol.
Step 2: Surface preparation. For those who want the absolutely best results, you want to remove cleaner / solvent residue from gunmetal before lubing. So, we recommend wiping gun parts down with 91% isopropyl alcohol first. Of course, the alcohol will evaporate quickly.
Step 3: Lubrication. Apply lubricant to clean, dry parts, and use clean cotton patches, wipes or equivalent to apply grease or oil. And, you want to polish material into parts, but you don't want to over-lubricate. If anything, having a gloss of grease showing on high-wear parts is acceptable (e.g. rails).

Tetra Gun lube and cleaning chemicals are all Made in USA, including the packaging.
Don't buy from new brands that don't have a track record that their gun care products work.
Tetra Gun care is a real chemical manufacturer with a reputation for quality that goes back over 40 years with customers worldwide.
Firearm maintenance accessories that are made better than most others and at a fair price, made to fit just about every caliber bore well beyond the most popular 9mm, 12ga and .22 cal. and 30 caliber sizes. That covers bronze brushes and nylon style brush attachments, brass jag and cotton mop attachments. And don't forget the value of cotton cleaning patches in many different sizes to properly fit down the barrel tightly on a jag or patch holder to pick up the most powder fouling.
Most importantly, never mix chemicals from different brands and certainly avoid using gun lubricant and gun cleaner products that are not meant for guns. They are not the same. And, follow instructions on labels and always reference the firearms manufacturers' user's guide. They are often vague on recommendations but they will advise cautions.
Lastly, there is a need and purpose for both grease and oil despite some people saying otherwise. Some may like the all-in-one product like Tetra's wonderful Triple Action CLP but there is a place for specialized formulas and tools. Be careful who you listen to. There are too many unqualified experts out there.
